Trump posts image showing Iceland and Greenland as US territory

US President Donald Trump has posted an image on Truth Social showing Iceland and Greenland as part of US territory, mbl.is reports.
Iceland is marked in red, while Greenland appears in the colours of the US flag. Trump included no text with the post.
Earlier on Monday, the European Union announced a 29 billion króna financial package for Greenland in response to Trump’s interest in the island, which is a self-governing Danish territory.
Trump has said the United States needs to take control of Greenland for national security reasons, although he ruled out annexing the island by force earlier this year.
“Greenland’s future is a decision for the people of Greenland and Denmark, not anyone else,” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said at a news conference in Nuuk.
