Revenue from alcohol duty is expected to reach 28 billion krónur next year, while tobacco and nicotine duties are forecast at 9 billion krónur, mbl.is reports.
The figures are included in the 2027 budget bill presented on Monday. The bill assumes that alcohol, tobacco and nicotine duties will rise by 5.2%.
According to the bill, next year’s revenue estimates are based on assumptions about private consumption and inflation in an updated economic forecast.
Revenue from alcohol duty has declined slightly in recent years when measured as a share of private consumption, the bill says.
