2027 budget, Iceland, National Hall

The National Hall is set to receive increased funding under Iceland’s 2027 budget proposal, mbl.is reports.

The equity of Þjóðarhöll ohf., the public company behind the project, is to be increased in line with the funding authorised by the Ministry of Education and Children for construction of a new National Hall in Laugardalur.

Funding amounted to 1.238 billion Icelandic krónur in the most recent budget. Under the 2027 budget proposal, it would rise to 2.422 billion krónur.

The increase is based on a general authorisation to raise the equity of public companies to strengthen their investment capacity or respond to serious operating difficulties.
