One has more serious injuries after Saturday crash

One of four people taken by helicopter to hospital after a three-car collision near Sólheimajökull on Saturday has more serious injuries than the others, mbl.is reports. Two others were taken by ambulance to the South Iceland Health Institution.
“The investigation into the circumstances of the accident is ongoing. As for the condition of those involved, one of the four taken to Fossvogur by helicopter is more seriously injured than the others,” Þorsteinn M. Kristinsson, chief superintendent with the South Iceland police, told mbl.is.
The collision occurred shortly before 8 p.m. on Saturday. Eight people were travelling in the three vehicles, and six were taken for medical treatment. Four were flown by the Icelandic Coast Guard’s helicopter to Landspítali, Iceland’s national university hospital, while two were transported by ambulance to the South Iceland Health Institution.
