Sixteen people have applied to become director of Fjarhitafelagið, according to Kringvarp Føroya. Both women and men are among the applicants.
The new director is due to start on January 1 next year.
Hans Christian Dam, who led the company for 22 years, stepped down earlier this year after reaching retirement age. The company’s board then appointed financial manager Eirik Mørkøre as interim director for the remainder of 2026.
SEV and Tórshavn Municipality own Fjarhitafelagið, which was established in 1988.
