Drivers warned of wind gusts above 30 m/s in southeast Iceland

A yellow weather warning is in effect in southeast Iceland because of strong winds and powerful gusts, mbl.is reports. The warning remains in force until 4pm, with gusts exceeding 30 metres per second expected. Conditions may be dangerous for vehicles vulnerable to strong winds.

Northerly winds of 8 to 13 metres per second are forecast in many areas today. The southwest and west will be partly cloudy or mostly clear, while the southeast and east will see northerly winds of 13 to 20 metres per second and considerable rain. Rain will ease during the afternoon. Temperatures will range from 8 to 16 degrees Celsius, with the highest temperatures in southern Iceland.

Winds will be relatively light tomorrow, with mostly clear skies, although strong winds are expected in the northwest and later in northern Iceland. Cloud will increase in the west tomorrow evening, bringing light rain or drizzle. Temperatures will range from 9 to 18 degrees, with the warmest conditions in the north.
