Fire report at hotel traced to bakery oven
A reported hotel fire in the Hlíð neighbourhood was traced to smoke from a bakery oven, mbl.is reported. Firefighters from the capital area ventilated the hotel.
The incident was among the calls handled by police between 5pm Sunday and 5am Monday. A restaurant in the western part of the city was also broken into, and police are investigating.
An electric bicycle collided with a car in Hafnarfjörður, but no one was injured. Police also received a report of a fire in an apartment building in Kópavogur, where a resident was barbecuing in the good weather.
Two drivers were stopped on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. One of them had been deprived of their driving licence. Several other drivers were fined for various traffic offences.
No one was injured in a traffic accident in Grafarvogur, although one vehicle was left unable to drive.
