Rescuers free puppy trapped in tree after wasp attack

Rescue services freed a puppy in Kiiminki, Oulu, after it stepped into a wasp nest and became tangled in a tree, Yle reported.

The puppy entered a ground wasp nest at the beach on Takumaantie on Sunday. As it fled the wasps, its leash became wrapped around a tree.

The owners could not reach the trapped dog because of the large number of wasps. According to a statement from the rescue service, they correctly called the emergency number.

Rescuers helped the puppy to safety, after which its owners took it to a veterinarian for examination.

The rescue service said it had no further information about the incident.
