Queen Margrethe has been admitted to Rigshospitalet hospital after feeling unwell, DR reports.
Doctors have found a new collection of blood in the hip region and mild dehydration. Both conditions are being treated.
“Queen Margrethe is in good spirits and, under the circumstances, is doing well,” the royal household said in a statement.
She is expected to remain in hospital for the coming week for observation and treatment. She will therefore not attend King Harald’s funeral on Wednesday.
Denmark will be represented at the funeral by King Frederik, Queen Mary, Crown Prince Christian and Princess Benedikte.
Queen Margrethe was admitted to hospital in May because of a collection of blood in her hip. It was caused by an earlier fall.
