Reykjaböðin, a bathing complex at the mouth of Reykjadalur in Hveragerði, is due to open today, mbl.is reports. The project’s investment has grown to approximately four billion Icelandic krónur.
“A new chapter in the bathing experience in Iceland has begun,” said Jóhanna Hreiðarsdóttir, managing director of Reykjaböðin.
The project was on the drawing board for just over five years, while construction has taken about two years. During that time, the bathing lagoon was expanded, more experiences were added, and a bathhouse and restaurant were built.
