Landakotsskóli relocates to former Stýrimannaskólinn building in Reykjavík
Part of the operations of Landakotsskóli in Reykjavík is relocating today to the building that formerly housed the Stýrimannaskólinn at Öldugata. Over the past few years, there has been a significant increase in the number of students at Landakotsskóli, resulting in a crowded environment. This spring, the school administrators entered into an agreement with the government to lease the Stýrimannaskólinn building, which was constructed in 1891 and served as a maritime school until the mid-20th century. The Catholic Church operated Landakotsskóli from 1896 until 2005, when it became an independently functioning primary school.
