Man charged with sexual assault to remain in custody in Faroe Islands

A 21-year-old man, charged with sexual assault, will remain in custody for an additional four weeks. This decision was made today in the Faroe Islands court.

The man was arrested in October of last year and has been in detention ever since. He is facing multiple allegations of sexual assault; however, the prosecution has refrained from disclosing the number of charges until formal charges are filed. It has been reported that at least one of the alleged victims is younger than 15 years old.
