Mackerel fishing commences around Faroe Islands as vessels return with promising catches

Mackerel fishing has commenced around the Faroe Islands, with several vessels returning to shore with their catches.

According to reports, the trawler Borgarin docked yesterday, unloading approximately 350 tons of mackerel to Pelagos, followed by Katrin Jóhanna, which brought in around 240 tons.

The size of the catch has been promising, averaging about 600 grams for Borgarin and 630 grams for Katrin Jóhanna.

Both vessels have since resumed their fishing activities.
