Police seek witnesses after possible stone attacks on motorway

Police are seeking witnesses after cars were struck by stones in two possible attacks from a motorway bridge on the Amager Motorway in Copenhagen, DR reports.

A car was hit late Wednesday evening near the exit for Avedøre Holme. It sustained only superficial damage, and no one was injured, Copenhagen West Police said in a press release.

Police said a similar incident may have occurred from the same bridge during the night into Sunday. A car was hit by a stone shortly after midnight and was damaged, but no one was injured.

“Throwing a stone at a car on the motorway can create an extremely dangerous situation,” Deputy Police Inspector Morten Rosendal said.

He said police take the danger caused by such incidents very seriously.

The motorway was briefly closed after reports of both incidents so officers could secure evidence. Copenhagen West Police is investigating the two cases.
