Foreign national sentenced to jail and four-year expulsion

A foreign national has been sentenced to 60 days in prison for stealing from five shops in Tórshavn and Runavík, KVF reported. The Court of the Faroe Islands also ordered his expulsion from the islands for four years.

Twenty days of the sentence are unconditional. The man has already spent half of that time in custody.

He stole goods worth 60,000 kroner, mainly clothing as well as some electronic items. He pleaded guilty.

The man came to the Faroe Islands to work and has been there since July.
