Autumn weather strengthens as southern Finland stays sunny

Autumn weather will gradually intensify across Finland, while the south remains mostly sunny, Yle reports. Temperatures will rise to slightly above 20 degrees Celsius in the south and west.

Wednesday will remain unsettled in parts of the country. High pressure will keep conditions mostly dry in southern and central Finland, where the sunniest weather is expected.

Isolated showers are possible near the eastern border and on the west coast, while showers will be more widespread in Lapland.

On Thursday afternoon, scattered rain will affect an area stretching from Oulu to North Karelia. Local showers are also possible in western Finland and Lapland.

Rain will become more common across a large part of the country towards the end of the week.
