New maternity unit opens at Landssjúkrahúsið hospital

KVF reports that the maternity unit at Landssjúkrahúsið hospital has moved into the H-building, giving expectant mothers and staff more options.

The new unit has four delivery rooms. Midwife Silja í Liða Berg said the facilities were well equipped and offered greater opportunities for both patients and employees.

The move means the two delivery rooms at Dronning Alexandrines Hospital, which date from 1924, are no longer in use.
