Police have released new details about Sunday evening’s explosion in Lumijoki, where two men were seriously injured, Yle reports. The explosion occurred in a worksite barrack on a truck trailer.

The injured men were born in 1981 and 2007. They were taken for further treatment, but police have not yet been able to interview them.

According to police, the owner of the barrack had attempted to dispose of it by burning it. The barrack apparently exploded when gasoline used to start the fire vaporised. The explosion was followed by a fire.

The barrack measured 7 by 3 metres. Police are investigating the incident as causing danger, environmental damage and careless handling. They are also considering other possible criminal offences, and the charges may change as the investigation progresses.

The explosion occurred in a field about 200 metres from the nearest buildings. Police said it posed no danger to bystanders.
