A large fire broke out in a waste storage area at Køge harbour on Saturday evening, DR reports. Police and firefighters are at the scene.
The Mid- and West Zealand Police District urged people to make way for emergency vehicles and follow police instructions.
Images from the scene showed a large column of smoke. Police said the smoke was currently blowing out over the water and was not expected to inconvenience residents in Køge.
The fire started in scrap material, police told Ritzau. The cause is not yet known and will be investigated after the fire has been extinguished.
There is no estimate for how long the firefighting operation will take, and it could continue for some time.
