Finland’s Hunters’ Association has called for wild boar hunting to be allowed in nature reserves because the area affected by African swine fever is expanding, Yle reported.
The association also said a fence planned around the disease’s core area should be reconsidered. African swine fever has spread across such a wide area that the fence may no longer be useful, it said in a statement.
The association further proposed allowing drones to be used to hunt wild boar, which it said are difficult to locate in the terrain.
