Woman found drowned in Helsinki’s Lauttasaari

About 60-year-old woman was found drowned in Lauttasaari, Helsinki, on Saturday morning, Yle reports.

Police and rescue services received a call about a dead person at 8.19 a.m., Helsinki Police said in a statement.

Police identified the deceased as a swimmer whom authorities had been searching for two weeks earlier, on August 15.

At the time, the rescue service reported a water rescue operation at Lohiapajanlahti.

Police are investigating the case to determine the cause of death.
