Kringvarp Føroya reports that Vørn will take responsibility for all emergency preparedness, while the Labour and Fire Inspection will be reorganised as the Labour Inspection and focus solely on labour market matters.
Ministers Bárður á Steig Nielsen and Margit Stórá said the changes would create a stronger professional environment. Emergency preparedness will be transferred to Vørn, while the new Labour Inspection will concentrate on labour market issues.
Leivur Persson, who has been director of the Labour and Fire Inspection, will move to Vørn as head of its emergency preparedness department. He will continue work on preparing a national emergency preparedness plan.
