Oulu city to hold meeting with electric scooter companies for better collaboration and operations review
The city of Oulu plans to invite all current and former electric scooter companies operating in the city to a joint meeting. The purpose of the meeting, according to Marko Kilpeläinen, Director of the City Environment in Oulu, is to review the current state of scooter operations in Oulu, listen to the opinions of entrepreneurs, and establish effective cooperation practices between the city and the companies. The meeting is intended to be held in August.
The city will continue to establish common rules for scooter operations in the future. Yesterday, it was reported that the electric scooter company Bird had not been able to conduct initial discussions with the city of Oulu, despite numerous attempts. The company decided to commence its scooter season in Oulu, even without these discussions.
Kilpeläinen spoke today with Bird’s country manager Max Westerholm via phone call. “I received a brief oral description of their views on how things have gone. Both sides emphasized the desire to work well together,” Kilpeläinen said.
