Flags fly at half-mast across Iceland after King Harald’s death

Flags are flying at half-mast at government ministries and public institutions across Iceland following the death of King Harald of Norway, mbl.is reports.

Harald died on Friday morning after a short period on his deathbed. The Prime Minister’s Office said it had asked ministries and state institutions to lower their flags in his memory.

Many people, including national leaders and government officials around the world, paid tribute to Harald on Friday. He had been Norway’s monarch for more than 35 years, since 17 January 1991.
