Brynjar Níelsson takes over as chair of Faxaflóahafnir board

Brynjar Níelsson has been appointed chair of the board of Faxaflóahafnir, a port authority, mbl.is reports. The authority’s new board began work and held its first meeting at noon on Friday.
The seven-member board represents the authority’s owners: Reykjavík City, Akranes municipality, Hvalfjarðarsveit municipality and Borgarbyggð municipality.
Five of the seven principal board members are new. Ragnheiður H. Magnúsdóttir remains as an independent board member representing Reykjavík City, while Páll Brynjarsson continues as the joint independent representative of Akranes, Borgarbyggð and Hvalfjarðarsveit.
Those leaving the board are Líf Magneudóttir, the outgoing chair; Hildur Björnsdóttir, the outgoing deputy chair; Már Másson, who represented Reykjavík City; Helga Harðardóttir, who represented Hvalfjarðarsveit; and Guðmundur Ingþór Guðjónsson, who represented Akranes municipality.
