Nokian Renkaat to invest in new production line for heavy-duty inner tubes at Nokian plant

Nokian Renkaat is set to invest in a new production line for heavy-duty inner tubes at its Nokian plant. The first inner tubes manufactured in Nokian are expected to be completed in the first half of 2025. Previously, these inner tubes were produced in Lieksa, but that production will gradually cease throughout 2025.

Manu Salmi, the director responsible for heavy tires at Nokian, stated in a press release that the sizes of heavy tire products and customer requirements have significantly increased.

“With the new production line, we aim to meet market demands and better serve our customers not only in inner tubes but also in rims and complete wheel packages,” Salmi noted. He emphasized that this new production capacity is crucial for maintaining a balanced product range and driving growth in the heavy tire segment.
