Farmers to receive rental income from planned wind farm in Klivaløkshaga, Norway
Farmers affected by the planned wind farm in Klivaløkshaga, west of Sandsbygd, can expect rental income for 20 years from energy consumers in exchange for the land.
Ari Johanneson, director of the Energy Regulatory Authority, stated that the exact rental amount is still undetermined. “The rental prices are not uniform across various wind farms. It depends, among other factors, on how much electricity will be produced in the area, making it impossible to predict the annual rental income for landowners at this time,” he explained.
Johanneson further noted that it is also unclear how many farms will receive rental income from Klivaløkshaga. “Before a winner is selected from the tender related to the wind farm in Klivaløkshaga, we cannot determine precisely how many farms will benefit from rental income,” he added.
The Environmental Agency has issued a call for applications for licenses to generate electricity from wind power in Klivaløkshaga. This announcement was made on July 15, and the deadline for submitting bids is January 15 of next year.
Additionally, the deadline to appeal the Environmental Impact Assessment from SEV regarding Klivaløkshaga is tomorrow. Appeals must be submitted to the Ministry of Environment.
