Fire breaks out at apartment building entrance in Grafarholt

Fire broke out at the entrance door of an apartment building in Grafarholt during the night, mbl.is reported.

The Capital Area Fire and Rescue Service received a call at around 2am. All stations were dispatched to the scene, but the first crew to arrive extinguished the fire and the other crews were turned back.

A duty officer said the fire was put out very quickly, although the building’s entrance sustained considerable smoke damage. No smoke entered the stairwell or any of the apartments.

The cause of the fire was not known.
