The Left Party has spent four years preparing for a potential standoff after a red-green election victory, according to an analysis by SVT political commentator Elisabeth Marmorstein.
Party leader Nooshi Dadgostar has maintained that the Left Party must receive government posts if it is to support Magdalena Andersson. If the party’s seats are needed to form a majority, it is expected to pursue that demand as far as possible.
However, if the Social Democrats find another way to secure a majority, Dadgostar will have little leverage, Marmorstein writes.
The article is an analysis, and its conclusions are those of the journalist. SVT says its employees do not act in the interests of any political party, company or interest organisation.
