Tourist who died at Stuðlagil reportedly was Polish citizen

The foreign tourist who fell into the Jökla river at Stuðlagil and died was a Polish citizen, according to Polish media, mbl.is reports.

The man was 39 years old and lived in Środa Wielkopolska. He was travelling in Iceland with a group of friends, the Polish news site reported.

Divers found his body earlier this week, a short distance from where he fell into the river. The death is being investigated as an accident.
