Sweden opens early voting as SVT experts answer election questions

Early voting in Sweden’s parliamentary election opened on Wednesday, with SVT reporting that more than 2,000 polling locations are now available across the country.

Questions about how to vote, whether identification is required and what happens if a voter changes their mind will be answered live at 16:30 by SVT election reporter Fouad Youcefi.

Youcefi is broadcasting from a polling station at Stockholm Central Station, where he will be joined by representatives from the Swedish Election Authority, Speaker of the Riksdag Andreas Norlén and a voting influencer.

Some 3.1 million people voted early in the 2022 parliamentary election, nearly half of all voters. Statistics from Statistics Sweden show that early voting has become increasingly popular.
