Missing swimmer sparks extensive search operation at Brattørkaia in Trondheim

The incident is under ongoing investigation.

Police received a report of the situation at 1:43 AM. Two friends decided to take a swim from Brattørkaia to the pier, but it appears that one of them did not make it to the other side. The authorities were notified by the friend who returned safely. Clothes and a mobile phone have been found on land, as confirmed by operations leader Bjørnar Gaasvik from the Trøndelag police district.

Gaasvik noted that the swim was not particularly long and indicated that all available personnel have been mobilized to search for the missing person.

Fire department divers are currently in the water, while emergency services are conducting search operations in the area by boat. Additionally, the rescuers are utilizing drones for aerial surveillance.
