Family seeks privacy as investigation into husband’s death continues

According to mbl.is, MP Lilja Rafney Magnúsdóttir of the People’s Party and her family are asking for privacy while police continue investigating the death of Lilja’s husband.

Hilmar Oddur Gunnarsson, a truck driver, died at the end of July. Lilja announced his death herself in a Facebook post. He had been ill after suffering a heart attack and a stroke.

Vísir reported on Tuesday morning that Lilja and Hilmar’s son was suspected of killing his father at the family home in Salahverfi, Kópavogur. The family has asked for privacy as they mourn Hilmar and the investigation continues.
