Katrín Jakobsdóttir to address event opposing EU membership

Former Prime Minister and VG chair Katrín Jakobsdóttir will be among the speakers at a meeting organised by Áfram Ísland on Thursday, mbl.is reports.

The meeting will take place at Austurvöllur from 5 to 6 p.m. on 27 August under the banners of solidarity and belief in a future for Iceland that is best secured outside the European Union, according to a statement.

Auður Eir Vilhjálmsdóttir, Sigríður María Egilsdóttir and Áslaug Arna Sigurbjörnsdóttir will also address the meeting.
