Unemployment remains below one per cent in July

Unemployment in the Faroe Islands remained at 0.9 per cent in July, according to Kringvarp Føroya, citing Statistics Faroe Islands. The rate was unchanged from May and June and stood at 1 per cent in July last year.
A total of 323 people were unemployed in July, 53 fewer than in the same month last year.
Forty people had been unemployed for more than a year and were classified as long-term unemployed. More men than women were unemployed.
Suðuroy had the highest unemployment rate, while the lowest rates were recorded in Vágur and the Northern Isles. Unemployment was lowest among the youngest and oldest age groups.
