SVT has traced a TikTok account that posted an image of a sword 25 minutes before police were alerted to an ongoing deadly attack at Brinell School in Fagersta on Friday. The account was active in the True Crime Community, an online subculture centred on the veneration of mass murderers and school attackers.
SVT has not been able to definitively link the account to Liam Nebel, 18, who is being held in custody on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
Before it was shut down on Friday, the account had 3,700 followers, more than half a million video views and around 50,000 likes. It had uploaded 17 so-called edits, short clips consisting mainly of AI-animated videos showing violent offenders dancing.
SVT also found traces of four previously closed TikTok accounts with very similar names. The pattern suggests that when one account was shut down, a new one was created with a similar name and content. This appears to have continued since at least the beginning of May 2026.
“My previous account was deleted, this is my new one,” the user wrote. Although the account has been taken down, it was archived by the Russian search engine Yandex on May 23, 2026.
The TikTok account linked to an account on the AI service Viggle, which the owner appears to have used to create the dancing videos. The Viggle account contains 91 clips, many of them depicting dancing mass murderers.
About 300 posts were also reposted on TikTok. In addition to praise for killers, some of the content was right-wing political material and misanthropy, meaning hatred of humanity.
The user appears to have been well known to some people in the community. A video posted by another user in the True Crime Community six days before the school attack placed the account’s alias on a winners’ podium. A comment posted on the day of the attack described the user as “a well-known TCC editor”. In videos posted on August 10 and August 15, the user was presented as the leading creator of edits.
After the attack, users in the community began posting their own videos apparently depicting the attacker. The videos show him dancing while the number minus one appears, a reference to the killing of the 17-year-old girl.
Comments on the Viggle account included “congratulations, man”, while some TikTok users expressed surprise. “I am shocked that he actually carried out the attack,” wrote one user who claimed to have been in contact with the account. Others mocked the account owner, writing: “He only got minus one.”
SVT’s investigation also includes an interview with Bjørn Ihler, an expert on preventing violent extremism and chief executive of the threat analysis company Revontulet, about the drivers within the True Crime Community.
