Norway orders 20 armoured 6×6 vehicles from Patria

Norway has agreed to buy 20 armoured 6×6 vehicles from Finnish-Norwegian defence company Patria, Yle reports.

The agreement includes options for 40 C2 command vehicle versions and RS4 remotely operated weapon systems.

The purchase is part of the multinational Common Armoured Vehicle System project, which includes Finland, Norway and several other European countries. Deliveries of the armoured vehicles are scheduled to begin this year.

“Norway’s acquisition is an important step towards strengthening shared protected mobility capabilities in the Nordic countries and more broadly within the CAVS community,” Jussi Järvinen, head of Patria’s Protected Mobility business unit, said in a company statement.

Patria has signed several vehicle agreements through the CAVS project in recent years. In December, the company concluded major vehicle deals with Germany. In May, Patria and Lithuania announced the purchase of six-wheeled vehicles, with a letter of intent signed in June.
