Man accused of four offences after attacking Kajaani police

A man is suspected of four offences after kicking and punching police officers during an arrest in Kajaani on Sunday afternoon, Yle reported.

Police were sent to investigate a suspected attempted robbery and assault at about 12.36pm on August 23.

When officers attempted to arrest a man found at the scene, the man, born in 1993, suddenly kicked one officer and punched another in the head several times. Police said he continued trying to hit the officers but did not succeed.

Police eventually restrained the man using force.

He is suspected of attempted robbery, assault, criminal damage and violent resistance to a public official.
