Police respond to altercation at Kópavogur shop
An altercation broke out between a security guard and a man suspected of stealing from a shop in Kópavogur, mbl.is reports. Police were called to the scene and dealt with the incident. The police log does not say whether either man was injured.
During a routine patrol in Breiðholt, police stopped a driver and found suspected drugs in his vehicle. They also discovered that he did not have legal permission to stay in Iceland. He was placed in a police cell.
Police also received reports of a vehicle break-in in postal code 105 and a man trying to enter an apartment in postal code 104. No one was at either location when officers arrived.
In addition, a house in postal code 105 was reported to have been vandalised after someone sprayed paint on its front door. The person responsible is not known.
