A 17-year-old girl was killed during an attack at Brinellskolan in Fagersta, SVT reported. Minnea Wennmyr was with the girl shortly before the incident and witnessed part of what happened.

Police were called shortly after 2pm on Friday about ongoing deadly violence at the upper secondary school. At 2.16pm, a police patrol reported that the suspected attacker had been arrested. Officers found the 17-year-old girl dead inside the school.

Wennmyr said she was with the girl when people began running.

“I managed to see a man who had something in his hand and was walking towards us,” she told SVT.

“We ran through a corridor. I turned around and saw this girl stop. Her boyfriend stopped too. Then, when we got outside, the first thing her boyfriend said was that she was dead. It felt terrible.”

Three other boys were injured, two of them seriously. An 18-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

Several people returned to a memorial site on Saturday, including Wennmyr.

“It feels so terrible that someone you sat at the same table with and had a conversation with is suddenly dead,” she said.
