Austrian and Estonian runners win Reykjavik Marathon

According to mbl.is, Austrian Michael Bidmon and Estonian Marion Tibar won the men’s and women’s races at the Reykjavik Marathon on Saturday.

Bidmon finished the men’s marathon in 2:21:36. Arnar Pétursson was second in 2:27:02 and was the first Icelandic runner across the finish line. Silviu Stoica finished third in 2:29:09.

Tibar won the women’s race in 2:57:49. Anette Leistad was second in 2:59:47, while Megan Rose Seibel finished third in 3:00:01. Kristjana Pálsdóttir was the first Icelandic woman to finish.

Women’s half-marathon: Elín Edda Sigurðardóttir, 1:23:38; Hildur Aðalsteinsdóttir, 1:24:50; Rannveig Oddsdóttir, 1:25:31.

Men’s 10-kilometre race: Baldvin Magnússon, 32:13; Viktor Orri Pétursson, 32:31; Youssef El Fahm, 32:36.

Women’s 10-kilometre race: Íris Dóra Snorradóttir, 37:29; Katla Rut Robertsdóttir Kluvers, 37:31; Sigþóra Brynja Kristjánsdóttir, 37:43.
