Deep low pressure to bring rain and strong winds across Finland
Yle reports that a deep low-pressure system arriving from the south will bring rain and strong winds to Finland over the coming days. Winds in the Gulf of Finland could approach storm-force levels overnight.
Saturday will begin fairly dry, although rain showers will move across the country. A sunnier area will remain in central Finland. Temperatures will be around 20 degrees Celsius in southern and central Finland and closer to 15 degrees in the north.
The weather will deteriorate during the day as the low-pressure system arrives south of Finland. Rain will begin in the south in the evening, accompanied by strengthening winds. Overnight, rain and strong winds will spread to central and eastern parts of the country. Southern and eastern Finland could receive 30 to 50 millimetres of rain.
Sunday will be windy and rainy in southern and eastern Finland. Conditions will be drier but still fairly windy in the west and Lapland. On Monday, the rain will slowly move east of Finland, while gusts remain strong.
