Landsbankinn marks anniversaries with Grafarvogur choir performance

Landsbankinn marked its 140th anniversary and the 70th anniversary of TM insurance with celebrations at branches across the country, mbl.is reported. TM insurance is now part of the Landsbankinn group.

Each branch held a special programme at 2pm, offering customers refreshments and musical performances. At the bank’s branch in Grafarholt, a neighbourhood in Reykjavík, around 30 members of the Grafarvogur Male Choir performed several songs under the direction of Íris Erlingsdóttir, the choir’s conductor and founder.

The choir opened with a birthday song for the bank. Its programme also included Fjallið Skjaldbreiður, a foreign melody set to a poem by national poet Jónas Hallgrímsson; Einbúinn and Samferða by the late Magnús Eiríksson; Ástarkveðja, a foreign melody set to lyrics by Sigurður Helgi Guðnason; and Týnda kynslóðin, with music and lyrics by Bjartmar Guðlaugsson.
