A man under the influence of drugs attacked and spat at police officers who were called to respond to an illness-related incident, mbl.is reported. Drugs were also found at the scene, and the case is under investigation.

The man was in an altered state when officers arrived and became aggressive towards them.

The incident took place in the jurisdiction of Police Station 3, which covers Kópavogur and Breiðholt. Two drivers were also stopped in the same district, one for speeding and the other for using a mobile phone while driving.

Three drivers had no valid licences

Officers from Police Station 1, which covers the eastern, central and western parts of Reykjavík as well as Seltjarnarnes, stopped a driver who was talking on a mobile phone without using hands-free equipment.
