In the spring, it became clear that Rógvi Fossadal, who had served as the director of the National Alcohol Company for the past 13 years, had reached a departure agreement with the Minister of Justice, meaning he was effectively dismissed.

This left the director position at the National Alcohol Company open, and there are indications that many Faroese are keen to take on the role.

The Ministry of Justice received 31 applications for the position of director at the National Alcohol Company.

Jan Arabo, the finance and administration manager at the company, has stepped in as the acting director.
