Keusote ends Klaukkala health station lease as Nurmijärvi disputes decision

The Central Uusimaa wellbeing services county, Keusote, has terminated the lease for the Klaukkala health station in Nurmijärvi, Yle reports.

The building was found to have indoor air problems in 2023. A fire broke out there last June, causing smoke damage. Keusote says the premises have not been restored to the condition required under the lease.

After the fire, health station services were moved to the health station in Nurmijärvi church village and to other premises.

Nurmijärvi Municipality, which owns the building, plans to challenge the lease termination. The municipality disputes the grounds for ending the agreement and says the lease cannot end without a notice period.

The municipality says it has carried out repairs and maintenance measures specified in a condition survey.

Municipal manager Outi Mäkelä said in a statement that the lease termination amounted to a decision to close the service location. She said the decision went against the position of the regional council and sought to place the blame on the municipality.

Keusote said the decision was not a permanent change to Nurmijärvi’s service network.
