Reykjavik Airport was closed after a training and aerobatic aircraft was damaged during landing, mbl.is reported. The two people on board were uninjured.
Emergency responders were called out at around 5pm after the pilot reported a malfunction in the landing gear. A fire service vehicle was among those sent to the airport.
The aircraft landed shortly afterwards and sustained some damage. It came to rest between the runways, according to Guðjón Helgason, an information officer at Isavia.
The closure could affect scheduled flights in the short term. The Transport Accident Investigation Board is expected to examine the incident before the airport is reopened.
