Yle reports that co-operation negotiations at the Kymenlaakso wellbeing services region will begin on Monday, August 24. The talks cover the entire workforce, about 280 employees, and could lead to furloughs or dismissals.

The region aims to save about 40 million euros in total. Half of that, approximately 20 million euros, is expected to come from personnel costs.

The negotiations will last at least six weeks.
