Nearly two million passengers travelled through Finnish airports in July, the highest figure for the month since 2019, Statistics Finland said, according to Yle.
Passenger numbers increased by 7 per cent from July last year. Domestic air travel rose by 9 per cent, while international travel increased by 7 per cent.
July is typically one of the busiest travel months of the year. However, passenger numbers remained below pre-pandemic levels. In July 2019, Finnish airports handled slightly more than 2.3 million passengers, about 400,000 more than this year.
From January to July 2026, a total of 12.5 million passengers travelled through Finnish airports, 6 per cent more than during the same period last year. The corresponding figure in 2019 was about 15.2 million, nearly three million more than this year.
