Three trawlers are fishing on local grounds this week as conditions are expected to improve, the Faroese broadcaster KVF reported, citing Fiskamarknaðurin.

Currents are currently strong but should ease as the week progresses. The weather is expected to be mostly good, supporting fishing activity.

One longliner is at Flemish Cap, another is off East Greenland and two are on the Iceland Ridge. Some vessels are expected to fish at Føroya Banki.

Three deep-sea trawlers are on the Iceland Ridge and one is to the east. Two pairs of pair trawlers are on the Iceland Ridge, while another pair is to the east.

Three trawlers are fishing on local grounds and one is to the north. Fiskamarknaðurin said some trawlers were nearing the end of their available days in the area.

Two gillnet vessels are fishing for Greenland halibut and are reporting reasonably good catches.
